Resources
Do you want to begin a new Women on Mission® program or spice up the one you have? Here are the resources you need:
Missions Mosaic
Missions Mosaic is the main resource for Women on Mission. Each monthly issue has three main features. These feature articles may serve as the content needed for up to three different types of monthly gatherings. These are not to be used as names of groups. These are simply the names of the types of materials available. Offer as many groups as needed in your church.
Feature articles available for group use in Missions Mosaic:
- Missionary Focus: for groups that want to learn more about missionaries and their work around the world
- Prayer: for women who are committed to intercession for missionaries, for missions needs, and for each other
- Bible Study: for study focusing on topics that nurture women
We publish two resources that work in conjunction with the articles in Missions Mosaic to help you plan and publicize your small group meetings: The Women on Mission Resource Kit: Posters Plus and the Women on Mission Planner. Both resources contain the same helpful articles and plans, but the resource kit includes additional posters and a retreat idea for each quarter.

Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between WMU and Women on Mission? Aren't they the same thing?
WMU is the overarching missions organization for all age levels, from preschool to adult. It has the word Woman in its title because it was started by women and in most churches is coordinated by women. For more information about "What is WMU," click here.
Women on Mission is the organization within WMU for women. The relationship is similar to your Bible study or Sunday School program in your church. Sunday School is the term for all the classes, no matter what the age level is. Within Sunday School you have adult classes, children's classes, etc.
What are the positions of leadership needed for Women on Mission?
- Flexibility is the key word when answering this question. It totally depends on the goals of the women or individual woman in the church.
- Facilitators lead group members in preparing for, doing, and assessing the work of the group. That can be completing projects, keeping records, promoting involvement, and many other tasks.
- Project leaders are responsible for specific projects such as a ministry activity, a prayer retreat, an on-going prayer project, or a special event.
- Planning teams are shared leadership for any of the above. One person doesn't have to be the "head honcho" all the time. It may work better in your church to have teams pool their talents, ideas, and skills
- Members of a group become involved. Involvement is the key word. A member can become a group of one. She is the leader, facilitator, and membership all wrapped up in one package. Or she can join her efforts to those of others to form a group of any size.
- Coordinators do just what that title says: they coordinate the work of multiple Women on Mission groups.
