Finger puppets carry a message of love around the world by opening doors for telling Bible stories and bringing joy to some children in sad circumstances. Use them as conversation starters, to initiate ministry opportunities, and for the children to take home.

 

1. Share finger puppets with hospitals and doctors’ offices to comfort a child waiting for a painful procedure.

2. Cultivate relationships with families of different cultures by handing the puppets to the children as a conversation starter.

3. Use biblical character finger puppets to tell Bible stories. Let the children use the finger puppets to retell the story, or go a step further and let the children make their own finger puppets.

4. Perform a puppet show for children’s classes in Sunday School or Vacation Bible School.

5. Share finger puppets with nursery and preschools in economically depressed areas. Not only can the teacher have a “prop” for storytelling, but deprived children can have one to take home.

6. Send the puppets with missions teams going out from your church or association as a token of compassion to the children across the miles. Use the finger puppets to open up ministry opportunities.
7. Create relationships with seniors at assisted-living facilities or nursing homes by taking the puppet materials to them so that they, too, can work on this valuable project.
