“Hi! My name is Nelda. My life was rocked just 6 months ago when I was involved in an automobile accident. After several weeks of fighting infection in my right leg due to injuries in the accident, my leg was amputated.
“Although I’m so grateful to be alive, now I must learn to live with one leg. Believe me, that has changed my life dramatically. I’m moving around in a wheelchair now, but soon I’ll be fitted with a prosthesis. In the meantime, daily life is a physical challenge for me.
